At The Lightship, we are an approved venue for your ceremony so you can create an all-day occasion that's one-of-a-kind in a location that's truly unique. Set on the waters of the Solent, The Lightship is a venue like no other. Distinctive, impressive, and atmospheric, it's the ideal backdrop to a day you'll remember forever.
The Lightship can hold a ceremony for a maximum of 75 guests (120 additional guests can join after this). The mid-deck interior can seat 60 or 80 standing. In addition, we have lots of (semi-sheltered) outside space: mid-deck- 30 seated/40 standing and top deck - 50 seated/80 standing. This means that once your ceremony is over, you can invite an additional 120 (max) people on board for the reception.
We offer an array of options, from three-course sit-down menus to BBQs, canapés, paella, and more. Our talented chefs are excited to create a menu that perfectly fits your day.
Every wedding is bespoke. However, the cost of exclusively hiring the mid-deck inside (and outside) is £3,000. To hire the whole ship exclusively is £4,000. This is a hire fee only and excludes food, drink, etc.
